Ride Alongs
At Mauston Area
Ambulance, we offer Ride Alongs for those
interested in EMS, as well as clinical
experience for EMT through Paramedic
Students.
In order to Ride Along with us, please read over the below guidelines/rules before contacting us:
- Ride Alongs must be at least 17 years old. If they are 17, they must have a parent present upon arrival to sign paperwork.
- All Ride Along and Clinical Students must read and sign a HIPAA and Liability Waiver at the beginning of their first shift.
- All Ride Along and Clinical Students are limited to Monday through Saturday, 700AM to 700PM.
- Ride
Alongs must wear appropriate clothing,
no holes, inappropriate, or
illegal/adult advertisments (e.g.
Budweiser). We strongly encourage
business-causal attire.
- Clinical Students should wear their school uniforms.
- It is discouraged for ride alongs or Clinical Students to wear clothing that would suggest they are employees of Mauston Ambulance.
- Ride Along and Clinical Students should not wear hoop or dangling jewlery due to risk of injury in our environment.
- Ride Along and Clinical Students should cover any inappropriate Tattoos that are visible.
- At arrival of the first shift, as well as at any time during their schedule time, a Ride Along or Clinical Student may be turned away, or told to leave without need for cause.
- At any time during a call for service, Ride Alongs and Clinical Students must obey any legal commands given by the duty crews due to crew and rider safety.
- Any time a Ride Along or Clinical student has an emergency, change in schedule, or is sick, please call 608-847-2223 option 1 and notify the On Duty Deputy Chief.
