Job Announcement: Full-Time EMT, AEMT, or Paramedic

 

 Mauston Area Ambulance Association is accepting applications for one (1) immediate full‑time opening at the EMT, AEMT, or Paramedic level. Mauston EMS is a private, non‑profit organization serving twenty municipalities throughout Juneau County. We are licensed at the Paramedic level with Critical Care Endorsement and provide emergency medical services to a population of approximately 20,566 residents, with significant seasonal increases due to regional tourism. Mauston is centrally located along the I‑90/94 corridor between the Twin Cities and Chicago.

Position Summary
The full‑time EMT/AEMT/Paramedic is responsible for providing high‑quality prehospital medical care in emergency and non‑emergency settings. This position requires strong clinical judgment, effective communication skills, and the ability to perform in a rural EMS environment where independent decision‑making is essential. Responsibilities include responding to 911 calls, performing patient assessment and treatment, completing interfacility transfers from a local critical access hospital, collaborating with aeromedical partners, maintaining equipment and vehicles, and participating in ongoing training.

Work Environment
Mauston EMS operates from two centrally located stations with modern, comfortable crew quarters. Crews do not participate in parking‑lot posting or staging. All ambulances are equipped with Stryker Power Stretchers and Power Load Systems, LifePak 35 monitors, Sapphire IV pumps, automatic transport ventilators, and Hamilton ventilators for Critical Care. Horton conversion ambulances feature the Horton Occupant Protection System (HOPS). The organization maintains progressive clinical protocols and encourages providers to practice to the full extent of their certification.

Compensation
Annual salary based on a 2,912‑hour schedule:
• Paramedic: $75,712 – $83,200
• AEMT: $64,896 – $74,880
• EMT: $59,072 – $64,896
